MUST READ: Mar Roxas' Yolanda Comic Book Earns Different Reactions from Internet Users!

A+ A-

Supporters of Presidential candidate Mar Roxas chose to create a comic book aiming to wipe out wrong information about Roxas' participation in Typhoon Yolanda preparation and aftermath. According to Daang Matuwid Coalition spokesman and Akbayan Representative, Barry Gutierrez, 'Sa Gitna ng Unos' comic book was produced by the supporters of Liberal Party standard-bearer, but they strongly affirm the details of it.

The book focused on the actions of the former DILG Secretary, before, during and after the catastrophe. Here are some of the excerpts:

It also clarifies that the alleged war between Mar and Tacloban Mayor, Alfred Romualdez, was just a mere misunderstanding and was sensationalized by Roxas' critics to destroy his image.

These illustrations went viral online and netizens couldn't stop sending positive and negative comments towards the book. The illustrator, Karl Commendador, was not spared from bashing. On his Facebook, he posted a statement last Monday, saying: "Marami po akong naidrowing na komiks pampulitika noon at ngayon. Trabaho lang po, sana'y inyong maunawaan. Maraming salamat po. DUTERTE PO ANG PRESIDENTE KO!"

This might be a part of the ongoing presidential campaign. However, whether or not it's election period, the truth shall prevail. There are a lot of sides to be heard and it's neither our role to judge nor to condemn. People deserve to know what really happened and who did not answer his call of duty during the worst typhoon.
