In an interview with ESPN.com, Stephen's father, Dell said, “I heard some people pronounce his name wrong before. I wasn't surprised. I was surprised that I didn't get a correction." Allegedy, the Nike exec called the Golden State Warrior star player "Steph-on."

Dell added that a surprisingly recycled PowerPoint presentation was exhibited by Nike executives in a meeting. He said that a slide contained Kevin Durant's name which indicates that it was from an old presentation. ”I stopped paying attention after that," Dell Curry stated.

The older Curry played NBA from 1986 to 2002 and he really felt that his son will not be treated by Nike as their freshest endorser. He said: "They have certain tiers of athletes. They have Kobe, LeBron and Durant, who were their three main guys. If he signed back with them, we're on that second tier.

Some reports say that Nike failed to match the Under Armour's offer which is nearly $4 million, and extends through 2024, after the baller signed last September 2015. ESPN mentioned that the terms are not clear, but allegedly include company ownership.

Curry really became an asset to Under Armour after it surpassed Adidas in the number two spot of sportswear brand ranking in the US. The company grew 57% year over year in 2015, according to Forbes. Jay Sole, a Morgan Stanley analyst said, Curry's worth in Under Armour may go up to more than $14 billion.

The clamor over Stephen Curry was clearly observed in the Philippines, when the fans did not mind waiting for hours just to purchase 5,000 pesos required merchandise amount from Under Armour, which would qualify them for two tickets in the player's basketball exhibition in Mall of Asia Arena.
